Iqbal has eleven appearances to his name in the Premier League 2 for the Red Devils’ Under-23s this season and has played the full 90 minutes in their last four games.

The youngster is eligible to play for England, Pakistan, as well as Iraq, though he has only played youth football for the latter country.

Iraq take on Iran next week and Lebanon later in the month as part of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Iqbal will be called up to the senior Iraq squad for the World qualifiers later this month and is set to make his international debut against Iran.

Iraq are currently fifth in their World Cup qualifying group and have realistic expectations of catching up the United Arab Emirates in third place to move to the next stage.

The starlet has previously played for Iraq Under-23s, making his debut last year in a game against the United Arab Emirates.

Last year also saw his debut for the first team of the Red Devils, making a late cameo in their Champions League tie against Young Boys.
