Ramsey shocked the football world when he agreed to join Rangers on loan from Juventus for the rest of the season on deadline day.

The Gers do not have an option to buy in the agreement and Juventus have agreed to pay most of the player’s wages during his loan stint at Ibrox.

There were suggestions that the Welshman’s wages meant Rangers were not in a position to negotiate a purchase clause in the loan agreement.

But it has been claimed that Rangers will get priority in negotiations with Juventus if they wish to sign Ramsey on a permanent deal.

If both Rangers and Ramsey wish to continue beyond the end of next season, the club will get will have the priority option.

However, a deal could still be unlikely due to the prohibitive nature of Ramsey’s current wages at Juventus.

Any such move would depend on the Welshman agreeing to take a salary cut to sign permanently for the Scottish champions.
