With Jules Kounde expected to join Barcelona, Chelsea have now turned their attention towards other centre-back targets in the market, while remaining ready if there is still a chance to sign the Sevilla man.

Chelsea have already missed out on signing Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Ake, and Kounde favours a move to Barcelona this summer.

Chelsea are now focusing their attention on Leicester’s Fofana and the club are pushing to take him to Stamford Bridge.

And according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, the Blues have already failed with a big-money bid for the centre-back.

Leicester have rejected their first bid, which has been termed a big offer, and are looking to hold on to Fofana.

The Foxes are facing their own struggles in the market but the Frenchman is not a player they want to sell.

Fofana signed a new five-year contract at Leicester earlier this year and it would take a huge offer to snare him away from the King Power Stadium.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea are prepared to push the boat out to land Fofana with Thomas Tuchel wanting two more centre-backs this summer.
