Dest’s future at Barcelona is under the scanner as the Catalan giants want to move him on before the window closes on Thursday.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants him and the club have opened talks with Barcelona over potentially signing him.
However, a move is dependent on Manchester United shifting out on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and for the moment, they do not have a concrete offer on their table.
And it has been claimed that Dest is now considering an offer to join Villarreal on loan this summer.
The Spanish outfit are in talks with Barcelona and are pushing to land the right-back on loan before Thursday’s deadline.
Dest is open to the move and would be prepared to move to Villarreal if a deal can be agreed upon.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United can shift out Wan-Bissaka in time to make an offer for the Dutchman.
The Red Devils are interested but they are not being able to move for him until Wan-Bissaka is at Old Trafford.
