Carvalho struggled to establish himself at Anfield last season following his much-vaunted move from Fulham.

And it has been mooted that the Reds are considering shipping out the winger this summer for much-needed regular first-team football experience.

RB Leipzig have been keen to add the 20-year-old Portuguese to their forward ranks for the forthcoming season and they have been in talks with Liverpool for his services.

Now it is said that Carvalho is on the verge of joining the German outfit on a season-long loan and the deal is expected to be wrapped up next week.

However, it is claimed further that Jurgen Klopp’s side have decided not to add an option-to-buy clause in the loan deal amid the negotiations being finalised between the two sides for the winger.

Liverpool have always been reluctant to let the Portuguese go on a permanent basis and they are also claimed to have snubbed a permanent deal bid from Leipzig for Carvalho.

It remains to be seen how well Carvalho will fare in the Bundesliga and whether the spell will help him rediscover his form.
