The 19-year-old midfielder’s performances for Bristol City last season further enhanced his standing as a promising talent.

And Scott has several Premier League suitors in the form of West Ham, Bournemouth and Brighton in the transfer market.

West Ham United boss David Moyes is an admirer of Scott’s talent and is keen to bring the Robins star to the London Stadium.

It has been claimed that Moyes and Hammers head of recruitment Rob Newman are the main thrust behind West Ham’s hunt for Scott.

But the Hammers’ recent appointment of Steiden as their new technical director has complicated the situation.

The Irons’ Premier League rivals, Bournemouth, have already submitted a £15m bid, which was rejected by Bristol City.

Nigel Pearson’s side want £25m for the player and Bournemouth are expected to return with another offer.

Now all eyes will be on West Ham to see whether they will be able to sort out their internal situation and come up with a bid to bring Scott to London this summer.
