Illan Meslier’s unconvincing performances at the end of last season have made bringing in an experienced goalkeeper a top priority for Leeds this summer.

The Whites identified Newcastle United’s out of favour goalkeeper Darlow as their prime target.

Several championship outfits, including Premier League side Bournemouth, entered the race for the 32-year-old’s signature.

Bournemouth were leading the race for Darlow, but Leeds United offered a better financial deal, which turned the tide in their favour.

Now it has been claimed that the Yorkshire outfit are set to complete the signing of Darlow by the end of this weekend.

It is said that the Whites have managed to agree to a three-year deal with the Newcastle United goalkeeper.

Darlow has made over 150 appearances in the Championship and will be hoping to take Leeds back to the Premier League in the upcoming season.
