The Bhoys have appointed Rodgers as the successor to Ange Postecoglou and want the Northern Irishman to continue Celtic’s dominance in Scottish football.
Despite a slow start to the transfer window, Celtic have managed to recruit a host of players, primarily focusing on recruiting promising players to their squad.
The Celtic boss admitted he is aware that everyone expects Celtic to go after players with big price tags because of their financial situation, but stressed that it is not the way the Bhoys work in the transfer market.
Rodgers stressed that although the club will not spend £15m to £20m on a player, they will not shy away from going after talented players to improve their squad, with plenty of time left in the window.
“We want to improve the squad”, Rodgers told Sky Sports Scotland.
“Everyone looks and thinks that we might bring in a £15m, £20m player, but the reality is that will not be the case.
“It is not what this club is based on, but that does not mean there is no talented player out there that we want.
“There is still quite a way to go in the window, so we will still look to improve the squad and continue with that.”
Celtic will face Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday before beginning their Scottish Premiership campaign on Saturday against Ross County.
