The Hammers have received £105m from selling Declan Rice to Arsenal and now they are keen to reshape their midfield.

Southampton’s Ward-Prowse is top of their wish list and they are keen on signing him this summer, but failed with multiple bids.

West Ham failed with a £30m bid for the Saints captain, as the Championship outfit had set a £40m price tag on him.

Now David Moyes’ side have managed to strike a deal with the Championship outfit for Ward-Prowse’ signature and it is for the amount of the rejected £30m bid.

The Hammers will pay £30m for the midfielder but the conditions and the payment structure will be more favourable to Southampton than the previous offer.

West Ham have yet to agree personal terms with Ward-Prowse but that is not expected to be a problem due to the midfielder’s keenness to join the Hammers.

Now it remains to be seen whether the Hammers will be able to complete the signing before their opening game of the Premier League on Saturday against Bournemouth.
