Alonso is one of the players who is yet to be registered with La Liga by the Catalan giants and it has led to speculation over his future.
The full-back joined Barcelona on a free transfer last summer and Xavi Hernandez was impressed with his performances last season.
But there are suggestions that Barcelona are open to offers for him and Aston Villa are interested in taking him back to the Premier League before the end of the window.
But according to Catalan daily Sport, Barcelona have rubbished rumours of Alonso’s departure from the club.
It has been claimed that the club hierarchy and coach Xavi have assured the player about his future at Barcelona.
They have made it clear that Alonso will not be sold and will remain an important part of the squad this season.
The Catalan giants are aiming to register Alonso as soon as possible as they juggle to find space in their wage bill.
