The Canaries are still looking to strengthen before the transfer window closes on Friday night and midfield is an area of interest.
The club are admirers of former Chelsea youngster Palmer, who is on the books at their Championship rivals Coventry.
And with the transfer window clock ticking, Norwich are thinking about seeing if Coventry can be convinced to part with Palmer.
The 26-year-old is very much in Norwich’s thinking and they could put in a formal offer.
It remains to be seen how Coventry might respond to a proposal from Norwich and whether Palmer would want the move to Carrow Road.
Palmer has featured in three of Coventry’s four Championship games so far this season, being booked twice.
The midfielder still has another two years left to run on his contract at Coventry.
