Spence is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans and Tottenham have been keen to move him on this summer.

Daniel Farke has been in the market for a full-back, with Max Aarons snubbing the club after undergoing a medical, but Leeds have now zeroed in on Spence.

Leeds have been making significant progress in talks to sign the defender and now have a deal in place with Tottenham for his loan arrival.

It has been claimed that they are only paying a loan fee of £500,000 up front, but there are significant add-ons attached to the deal.

Leeds could pay as much as another £1.5m if targets which have been agreed are hit during the loan stint in Yorkshire.

If everything goes according to plan, Leeds could end up paying as much as £2m for a season-long loan.

Spence will now travel to west Yorkshire soon where he will undergo a medical before signing a loan contract.

The full-back made a name for himself in the Championship for Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.
