The 21-year-old centre-back joined Southampton last summer, but he has been expected to leave the Saints following their relegation last season.

Bella-Kotchap has a host of suitors, but Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are particularly keen on him.

It is said that Dortmund have reached a verbal agreement with Bella-Kotchap and the player is keen on a move.

The Bundesliga giants want to take the 21-year-old on loan this summer with an option to buy him next summer.

However, they received a setback in their pursuit of the deal due to Southampton’s demands regarding a loan fee and the deal is on the verge of collapsing, according to German broadcaster Sport1.

Southampton chief executive officer Rasmus Ankersen wants an €8m loan fee for the centre-back which is deemed too high by Dortmund.

With less than 48 hours to go, it remains to be seen whether both clubs will be able to come to an agreement to sort out Bella-Kotchap’s future.
