Michael Beale is keen on strengthening his backline after their 5-1 defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven in their Champions League qualifier.

The Gers boss is in the market for another centre-back and has his mind set on Leicester City’s Souttar.

Souttar joined the Foxes in January but has fallen down the pecking order under Enzo Maresca.

The 24-year-old might leave before the deadline, with Scottish giants Rangers being his potential destination.

However, it has been claimed that Rangers might have to offload a player to create space for Souttar’s arrival.

Souttar has experience playing in the Scottish Championship during his time with Dundee United and also has Premier League experience under his belt.

Rangers have just banked £5m from selling Glen Kamara to Leeds United.

Now it remains to be seen whether Rangers will be able to complete a move for the Leicester star before the window closes.
