The 19-year-old defender has been a regular on the bench for Rangers this season but is yet to get an opportunity to play.

There were suggestions throughout the summer that Rangers were planning to loan him out in order to give him a regular taste of senior football.

A number of English clubs have been interested in signing the young defender and late discussions were held over agreeing to loan him out.

However, it has been claimed that King will not be leaving Rangers before the window closes tonight.

Rangers have decided against loaning the centre-back out for the time being despite clubs being interested in him.

He will remain part of Michael Beale’s first-team squad and fight for a place in the team going forward.

King’s situation will be reassessed in January again but for now, he is set to stay at Ibrox this summer.
