Derby have been looking to make signings before the transfer window shuts in a bid to strengthen their squad for a busy League One campaign.

They are keen on Sunderland’s homegrown midfielder Embleton and the Black Cats have agreed to play ball.

A deal has been agreed between the two clubs which will see Embleton head to Pride Park on loan.

Derby will now be looking to quickly wrap up the capture before the window shuts.

Embleton is currently travelling to Derby to get the deal over the line.

The 24-year-old has experience playing in League One, having turned out in the division for both Blackpool and Sunderland.

He helped both clubs to win promotion to the Championship and Derby will be hoping he can bring his promotion winning magic to Pride Park.
