Tanganga, 24, came through the youth ranks at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and earned two caps for England Under-21s.

He indeed broke into the first team at the Lilywhites in 2019, but struggled to kick on and nail down a regular spot.

Cutting a forlorn figure at the London side, Tanganga was keen on leaping overboard this summer and Spurs were also looking for suitors to offload the defender.

Augsburg eventually emerged as a lifeline for Tanganga and the German side landed the centre-back on loan with an option to buy on deadline day.

The English star is eager to make his debut for the Bundesliga club, but according to German magazine Kicker, the defender is likely to have to wait for it.

Tanganga is not yet at the required fitness level to make his first appearance for Augsburg.

The German side have made a sluggish start to their campaign this season and are looking forward to seeing Tanganga contribute notably to their run moving forward.

However, the jury is still out on when the centre-back will be able to make his first mark in the Bundesliga.
