Newcastle are set to host AC Milan at St. James’ Park on Wednesday night in their last Champions League group game for this season.

Both teams have a chance to reach the last 16 of the tournament if they win and if Borussia Dortmund beat Paris Saint-Germain in the other game of the group.

The two sides are desperate to win with the result also set to define who could be in the knockout rounds of the Europa League even if their Champions League journey ends.

Legendary former boss Capello revealed that he watched Newcastle’s defeat at Tottenham and stressed Spurs exploited their weakness against quick attacks well.

However, he warned AC Milan that the Magpies also have the ability to pile on rapid attacks if they are given the space to do so.

The former England boss said on Sky Italia (via Milan News): “Newcastle are a team that need to be attacked at pace, they went into a crisis against Tottenham.

“But if you give them too much space, they are very quick to attack.

“I watched Tottenham-Newcastle carefully.

“Spurs exploited all the moments in the best possible way, but had some difficulties when they found themselves exposed.”

Newcastle will hope that they are still in Europe by the time the final whistle blows at St. James’ Park on Wednesday night.
