A shock 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock on Sunday for Celtic has led to fierce criticism from all quarters.
Rangers are now snapping at their heels in the Scottish Premiership table and their lead has been cut down to five points with the Gers having played a game fewer.
Rodgers stressed that the Scottish champions have looked inconsistent this season despite their ability to produce brilliant football on some days due to the quality of their squad.
He feels that the thing that should alarm Rodgers the most is that some of the players wilted under the pressure at Kilmarnock when the home side got on top.
Dalziel said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “Celtic to me just now are a bit of a mixed bag.
“One week I see them and some of the football they play is absolutely brilliant and you are saying, yes, they have got the stronger squad and they are going to go and win the league.
“I witnessed it for myself at the weekend and you can say okay in defence of Brendan Rodgers, it was the first league defeat.
“But it was the manner and you go through the team, there are a lot of players, who for me, watching them on Sunday, when the going got tough, they certainly didn’t stand up for me.
“And that would be an alarming sign if I was Brendan Rodgers.”
Celtic will hope to show some spirit when they take on Feyenoord in the Champions League this evening.
