Thiago Alcantara is unlikely to leave Liverpool in January and is set to see out his contract until the end of the season, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

The 32-year-old midfielder’s time at Liverpool has been riddled with injuries and he is yet to play a single minute of football this season.

There are suggestions that Thiago could move on from Liverpool in the winter window if he can prove his fitness and find a new club.

There are clubs across Europe who are considering snapping up the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star in the January window.

But it has been claimed that a January exit is not likely for the Liverpool midfielder at the moment.

He is still on the sidelines due to an injury and is not expected to seek a move next month.

His current deal will expire at the end of the season and the midfielder could wait until he is a free agent.

Thiago is likely to find more takers in the summer if he manages to get some game time and proves his fitness in the latter half of the season.
