Former Sunderland star Stephen Elliott thinks Black Cats linked winger Amad Diallo looked unhappy in a Manchester United shirt at the City Ground.

Amad was brought on off the bench against Nottingham Forest to replace Antony in the 54th minute of Manchester United’s 2-1 loss in the Premier League.

The winger had a successful loan spell at Sunderland last season and has been linked with a possible return to the Black Cats, who are expected to be active in next month’s transfer window.

Other Championship sides are also keen on Amad and former Sunderland star Elliott does not believe the winger looks happy at Manchester United, in a potential nod to a Stadium of Light return.

Elliott took to X to write: “Amad looked so unhappy in a Man Utd kit.

“#Justsaying.”

The appearance at the City Ground was Amad’s first outing of the season for Manchester United and the winger will be keen to make sure he is playing regularly in the second half of the campaign.

He made 42 appearances for Sunderland over the course of last season and chipped in with 14 goals and four assists.

Sunderland are struggling for goals from their attackers this term and Amad may represent an attractive option.
