Billy Dodds has insisted that Rangers are not going away anywhere despite their defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
Rangers’ 16-game unbeaten run under Philippe Clement came to a halt at Celtic Park when they lost 2-1 in the derby.
The win allowed Celtic to go eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premierships standings but Rangers still have two games in hand over their Glasgow rivals.
Dodds insisted that despite their defeat in the big game, Rangers did show that the title race will go down to the wire this season, unlike in recent years.
He stressed that the pressure they put on Celtic with ten men showed that Rangers have something special in them but conceded that the Bhoys deserved to win maximum points at home.
The former Rangers star said on BBC Radio Scotland: “There’s something about Rangers.
“It’s going down to the wire this one, you feel.
“The way the season has gone, it’s not done yet, even if Celtic won this one.
“Rangers certainly have something about them because you could see with the ten men, they put Celtic under the cosh right until the final whistle.
“It was dramatic and they just held on but it was a deserved three points.”
Rangers will hope to get all three points at home against Kilmarnock on Tuesday before going into the winter break.
