Portsmouth manager John Mousinho has revealed that there are a few transfer options Pompey are working on, though nothing is imminent as yet.

After spending heavily on players over the course of the summer, the League One side are reaping the benefits, being currently placed on top of the League One pile.

After managing their first win in the last four matches, Mousinho is looking forward and has tackled questions on the club’s plans for this month’s transfer window.

The young manager insists that there are a few options the club are working on, though there is nothing imminent on any transfer yet.

Answering questions on transfers, Mousinho told the BBC: “Nothing imminent.

“We are still working on a few different options as you can probably imagine.

“Even looking at things today with different teams up and down there, up and down the league.”

Mousinho further took time to reveal that he and his club will take stock of the situation in the next few days.

“Things change very quickly. So, we will take stock of that over the next couple of days.”

After a tough series of festive fixtures, Pompey now enjoy a short break until next Saturday when they take on Cheltenham Town.

On the break, the manager added: “We have got a little bit of a breather, not a big one but much more of a breather than what it was on Friday night and we will go from there.”

There is a two-point gap between first-placed Portsmouth and second-placed Bolton Wanderers at the moment, though the second-placed side have a game in hand.
