Fiorentina are growing in confidence that they will be able to sign Aston Villa target Cyril Ngonge from Hellas Verona this month.
Ngonge has impressed at Hellas Verona and the club are prepared to cash in on him, with an asking price of between €10m and €15m having been mooted.
Aston Villa have already failed with an attempt to sign the winger and Fiorentina are now bidding to take advantage.
Talks are taking place between Fiorentina and Hellas Verona, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport (via Fiorentina.it) and the feeling is that an agreement can be reached.
It is suggested that Fiorentina could sign Ngonge for just over €10m.
Fiorentina are involved in the Italian Supercup and are due to face Napoli in the semi-final on 18th January.
They are hoping that they can get a deal over the line for Ngonge in time for the Supercup game.
All eyes will be on whether Aston Villa return with a fresh proposal for Ngonge or leave the field clear for Fiorentina to snap him up.
