Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has refused to deny Pompey’s interest in Bradford City star Jake Young.

The 22-year-old striker joined Swindon Town on loan from Bradford City in the summer and Young impressed with his performances, scoring 16 goals in 25 appearances.

Bradford decided to cut short his loan spell in January by recalling him and it has been suggested that Young is on Portsmouth’s radar.

Portsmouth are at the top of the League One table and they are in the market to further strengthen their squad to secure automatic promotion this season.

Mousinho refused to deny Portsmouth being interested in the Bradford City star, but will not comment on Young, who is contracted to another club.

The Pompey boss also stressed that he is happy with the players at his disposal in the Blues forward department.

When asked about whether Portsmouth are interested in Bradford City star Young, Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent: “I think as long as Jake is contracted with another club, I would not comment on that.

“But as far as we are concerned in the forward department, we are really happy where we are.

Young has a contract with Bradford that is set to expire at the end of June 2025 and it remains to be seen whether Portsmouth will go with a bid to the Bantams for the striker in the ongoing window.
