Sheffield Wednesday have rejected approaches from League One for Derby County target Michael Smith, according to the Star.
The 32-year-old centre forward joined Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2022 and helped them earn promotion to the Championship.
Smith has featured 14 times for the Owls this season, scoring three goals in the process so far.
The former Rotherham United striker is attracting interest from several League One outfits and Derby are one of them.
Derby failed with their attempt to sign Smith in the summer and they have retained their interest in him.
It has been claimed that the Owls have rebuffed approaches for a loan and a free transfer from League One for Smith in the ongoing window.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is keen on signing fresh faces in the ongoing transfer window and he does not want to let Smith leave until he brings them in.
Derby are eyeing promotion this season and Paul Warne is desperate to bring in a forward to help their promotion hopes.
