Everton manager Sean Dyche has insisted that Arnaut Danjuma has always been part of his plans despite speculation of his impending departure.

Danjuma joined Everton on loan from Villarreal last summer and is scheduled to spend the season at Goodison Park.

However, he has been a bit part player on Merseyside in the ongoing campaign and there are suggestions that the Dutchman wants to cut short his loan stay at Everton.

The winger is said to have an agreement in place with Lyon to join them on loan in the ongoing transfer window but Dyche pleaded ignorance.

He insisted that Danjuma is still very much an Everton player and has a good chance of playing against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Dyche stressed that the Dutchman has never been out of his plans and indicated he is still an important player in the squad.

The Everton manager said in a press conference: “The situation is very simple; he is an Everton player.

“That’s it.

“He is still here; he played the last game and he has got a fair chance of playing the next one.

“He has certainly never been outside our plans so he remains an Everton player.”

It remains to be seen whether Dyche manages to convince the winger to stay put at Goodison Park for the rest of the season, especially with Danjuma worried about his Euro 2024 prospects.
