West Ham United could encounter problems signing former Celtic winger Jota due to the wages he currently earns in Saudi Arabia, according to Sky Sports.
David Moyes has been shorthanded in the forward department with several injuries and is an admirer of the Portuguese, who plays for Al Ittihad.
West Ham are in the market to add forward reinforcement to strengthen their attacking line-up this month.
Former Celtic winger Jota, who joined Saudi outfit Al Ittihad in the summer, is firmly on West Ham’s radar and they are keeping an eye on him.
However, taking Jota to the London Stadium is likely to be tough because of the player’s wages.
Al Ittihad paid Celtic a £25m transfer fee for Jota and the winger is on a £200,000 a week salary.
It has been claimed that despite the Hammers’ interest in the forward, Jota’s move to London might prove problematic due to his high salary.
West Ham have yet to make an approach to the Saudi outfit for the former Celtic star and it remains to be seen whether Jota would agree to take a pay cut to join the Hammers this month.
