Burnley are not in the race to sign Sheffield United centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic this month, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The 24-year-old centre-back has been a key player for Sheffield United this season and has made 13 Premier League starts.

However, there are suggestions that the Blades are considering cashing in on Ahmedhodzic if they receive a good offer for him.

The Bosnian is seen as someone who could be sold for decent money in January and he is being linked with a move away.

Burnley are a club that are looking to strengthen during this month’s transfer window.

But it has been claimed that the Clarets are not in the mix to get their hands on Ahmedhodzic this month.

Vincent Kompany is keen to bring in fresh faces into his squad and is looking to strengthen several areas of his side.

However, Ahmedhodzic is not a player the Burnley boss is considering signing at this stage of the window and if he does leave Sheffield United it will be to go elsewhere.
