Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ettifaq are set to consider a move to sign the Liverpool duo of Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip in the summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Saudi outfit are in talks to terminate Jordan Henderson’s contract as the former Liverpool captain prepares to join Ajax this month.

The midfielder’s departure would free up funds for new signings in January but the club are also plotting their summer transfer window.

Steven Gerrard and sporting director Mark Allen are putting plans in place for a big window next summer.

And it has been claimed that the former Liverpool skipper is again looking at options at Anfield.

Thiago and Matip are two players Al-Ettifaq are considering snapping up in the next summer transfer window.

The two players are out of contract in the summer and Thiago is unlikely to be offered a new deal.

Matip recently suffered a massive knee injury and Jurgen Klopp is hopeful that Liverpool will do the right thing by offering a new contract as he recovers.

However, no new contract has been offered and as it stands the defender will be a free agent next summer.

It remains to be seen whether Al-Ettifaq try to sign both current Liverpool stars or one of them at the end of the season.
