Charlton Athletic are not expected to encounter any issues signing Lewis Ward, who is waiting for his medical reports, according to the South London Press.

The Addicks want to bring in the goalkeeper to beef up their options between the sticks.

Ward, 26, is currently on the books at Swindon Town, but is rapidly closing in on joining League One side Charlton.

The shot-stopper is currently waiting for the results of his medical tests to come back before he can officially complete the move.

It is suggested that there are no issues expected which may prevent a move to Charlton.

Ward has made five appearances in League Two for Swindon this season, but failed to keep a clean sheet with eight goals conceded.

The shot-stopper does have significant experience and has turned out in League Two and the National League.

Ward also has a stint playing in Iceland under his belt, where he played in the country’s top tier.
