La Liga side Girona want to snap up Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley before the transfer window closes this month, according to Sky Sports News.

O’Riley has impressed during his time at Celtic and was linked with a host of English clubs in the last summer transfer window.

Celtic managed to hold on to the midfielder, but they could again be at risk of losing him this month in what would be a bitter blow for boss Brendan Rodgers.

O’Riley is now drawing interest from La Liga, where surprise table toppers Girona want to sign him to boost their title bid.

The Spanish side hold a strong interest and want to grab O’Riley before the winter window closes this month.

O’Riley has interest from another unnamed club in Spain, as well as a Premier League side.

Celtic could soon have to deal with approaches for the midfielder during the final stretch of the winter transfer window.

The Scottish champions are likely to be against losing O’Riley in the middle of the season as they bid to fight off Rangers to retain their crown.

They could be tested with tempting proposals though and the jury is out on whether O’Riley would want the move.
