Liverpool have retained their interest in Chelsea defender Levi Colwill amid the Reds being tipped to sign another centre-back in the summer, according to talkSPORT.

Colwill emerged as a target for the Reds in the last summer transfer window, but Chelsea ended up keeping the 20-year-old.

Eventually, Collwill was persuaded by manager Mauricio Pochettino to sign a new long-term contract and was given assurances about regular first-team football.

With the London-based side now trying to stay on the right side of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, Colwill could be an attractive option for the Blues to sell.

Liverpool have retained their interest in the defender and might make a move for the 20-year-old.

It remains to be seen how much they are willing to offer to prize the player away from Chelsea’s hands.

Though Colwill has featured regularly as he had been initially promised, he has played out of position in a significant number of games.

As an academy graduate, selling Colwill would help Chelsea comply with the Premier League’s rules and have space for new signings.
