Aston Villa have gone in with another offer for Middlesbrough star Morgan Rogers as they bid to take him to Villa Park, but it has been rejected, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Unai Emery is an admirer of Rogers and has made him a top target for Aston Villa this month.

Taking Rogers away from Middlesbrough, who hold hopes of challenging for promotion from the Championship, is proving to be tough however.

Aston Villa have already failed with one proposal for the forward, but have quickly been back at the table to try again.

A fresh offer has been put to Middlesbrough, which has again been rejected.

Middlesbrough are clear that they do not want to lose the 21-year-old and will only do business if they feel his full value has been met.

The ball is now back in Aston Villa’s court to come up with an offer which satisfies the Riverside outfit.

Rogers came through the youth set-up at West Brom before then heading for Manchester City, where he was sent on a host of loan stints.

Middlesbrough captured the forward last summer and he has wasted no time in impressing in the north east.
