Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has yet to give West Bromwich Albion target Mikey Johnston permission to make a winter move, according to Football Scotland.

Johnston is a product of the Celtic youth set-up and has made 91 appearances for the Bhoys first team.

The left winger has featured for only 411 minutes in all competitions for Celtic so far this season and has two goals and two assists to his name.

Championship outfit West Brom are in the market for a winger and Johnston has attracted Carlos Corberan’s attention.

West Brom are eyeing promotion this season and Corberan believes that the Celtic star could provide an edge in the forward department.

But it has been claimed that the Celtic boss has yet to give his approval to letting Johnston leave in the ongoing window.

With the transfer window set to close next week, it remains to be seen whether West Brom will step up their interest in the forward.

Last season, Johnston went on loan to Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes and featured 31 times for them.
