Celtic are holding out to receive an offer in the region of £25m before they consider selling Matt O’Riley, according to the Daily Record.
The 23-year-old midfielder is in excellent form this season and is drawing attention from several European outfits.
O’Riley has established himself as a key player in the Celtic squad and they do not want to lose him.
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are showing interest in signing O’Riley this summer and have submitted a bid for the midfielder.
Atletico have offered to take the Celtic star on loan for the rest of the season, with an obligation to buy him in the summer.
Celtic are set to reject Atletico’s approach and it has been claimed that the Bhoys are holding for a bid in the region of £25m before they consider selling the midfielder.
The Hoops signed O’Riley from MK Dons in the winter of 2022 for a transfer fee north of £1.5m.
Now it remains to be seen whether Atletico will be interested in matching Celtic’s price tag to take the player to Spain this month.
