Ipswich Town are plotting to secure a deal to sign AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi before next week’s transfer deadline, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
Kieran McKenna has been pushing to bring in a striker all window but so far, Ipswich have failed to sign one.
Blackburn Rovers forward Sam Gallagher was a target but Ipswich moved on from him as the player was reluctant to leave Ewood Park.
McKenna still wants a striker and the club are now focusing on getting someone from the lower leagues.
It has been claimed that Ipswich are now pushing to get a deal done to sign Al-Hamadi from Wimbledon in the coming days.
The 21-year-old striker, a full-time international for Iraq, has scored 17 times in 29 appearances in all competitions this season.
Ipswich are working on a deal to take the forward to Portman Road before next Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Al-Hamadi would like to play at a higher level if Ipswich could work out an agreement with Wimbledon in the coming days.
