Rangers have agreed to a deal with Brazilian outfit Fluminense regarding for Jefte but are waiting for a green light from APOEL to terminate his loan, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Philippe Clement wants to beef up his squad this month and left-back is a position Rangers are keen on improving.

With Borna Barisic’s deal set to expire in June and Ridvan Yilmaz linked with a move out of Ibrox, the Gers have been linked with several left-backs.

Rangers have identified Fluminense’s 20-year-old Jefte as a good fit for their squad.

In the summer, the young left-back joined Cyprus outfit APOEL on a season-long loan and has impressed with his performances.

It has been claimed that Rangers have agreed to a deal with Fluminense to take Jefte to Ibrox this month but are waiting for APOEL to agree to end his loan.

The 20-year-old is said to have agreed terms with Rangers to sign a deal until 2027.

With less than a week remaining in the winter window, all eyes will be on Rangers to see whether they will be able to complete the deal on time.
