Sunderland are holding out for a certain figure as Lazio continue to chase the signature of winger Jack Clarke, it has been claimed in Italy.
The Black Cats are facing the prospect of watching one of their best players leave before the transfer window closes on Thursday night.
Clarke has emerged as a big target for Lazio in the final few days of the transfer window and the Serie A giants are pushing to secure a deal for him.
Sunderland have already knocked back an offer worth €16m from Lazio for Clarke as they dig their heels in for the winger.
According to Italian daily Il Messaggero (via Calciomercato.com), the Championship side are holding out for a fee of around €25m for Clarke.
Tottenham Hotspur have a 25 per cent sell-on clause and the Black Cats would have to take that into account before agreeing to sell him.
Lazio are convinced of the winger’s talent and are continuing to push to sign the player in the coming days.
They are likely to make a new approach to try and snare Clarke away from Sunderland before Thursday’s deadline.
