Oxford United and Peterborough United are battling to secure the signature of Bristol Rovers target Michael Olakigbe from Brentford, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.
The 19-year-old winger joined Bretford in the summer of 2022 from Fulham and this season he has featured 12 times for the senior team.
Bristol Rovers are strengthening their squad under Matt Taylor this month and a winger is on their priority list.
The Gas have set their eyes on Olakigbe, but they are not the only ones, as Peterborough and Oxford are also in the race for his signature.
It has been suggested that Bristol Rovers have enquired with Brentford regarding the availability of Olakigbe in the ongoing window.
But it has been claimed that currently Peterborough and Oxford are in a battle to land the youngster on loan.
The Posh and Oxford are both eyeing promotion this season and believe that Olakigbe’s talent can help them in their attempt.
And now it remains to be seen whether Bristol Rovers will step up their interest in the winger to snatch him away from their League One rivals.
