Portsmouth have sorted out the financial details with Reading for defender Tom McIntyre with the player having successfully concluded his medical at the Fratton Park-based club, according to journalist Dan Marsh.
Following a relatively quiet first part of the January transfer window, John Mousinho has shown activity in the last few days having brought in Myles Peart-Harris from Brentford and Callum Lang from Wigan.
They do not appear to be done though and have gone into the market yet again, trying to get a deal for 25-year-old defender McIntyre over the line.
In fact, a deal for the player is done and the Pompey are set to pay Reading a fee in the region of £75,000 for the player
The deal will also have a sell-on clause.
McIntyre has completed his medical with the League One side and is set to be announced as a new Portsmouth signing in the coming hours.
With the arrival of the defender, Mousinho hopes that his team will have more solidarity in defence as they push for promotion at the end of the season.
Portsmouth have suffered due to injuries this season and with the business end of the season approaching will aim to be well-stocked in all the areas of the pitch.
