Fiorentina have been in touch with Tottenham Hotspur over striker Alejo Veliz and Spurs are looking for a destination which makes sense for the Argentine.

Veliz is down the attacking pecking order under Ange Postecoglou in north London and could face limited game time if he stays beyond the closure of the transfer window on Thursday night.

Fiorentina are ready to provide a solution and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, have been in touch with Spurs about Veliz.

It is suggested that Tottenham are looking for a destination for the young striker and want to send him to a club where he will be able to play on a regular basis.

Spurs want Veliz to have consistency of selection over the second half of the season.

While Fiorentina are a possibility, there could be other potential destinations in Serie A.

Veliz, who has been suffering from a knee injury, has played just 42 minutes of football in the Premier League so far this season.

Heading to Serie A could appeal to the striker and it remains to be seen if Spurs can find an appropriate destination.
