Blackburn Rovers are pushing to complete the signing of Sheffield Wednesday target Duncan McGuire, who is flying to England, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The 22-year-old striker has been the subject of a transfer fight between Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday, with talks with Orlando City taking place.

The negotiations have been going on for a while but it has been claimed that a deal is now in place for a move to Ewood Park.

The two clubs have reached an agreement over a fee and McGuire is now expected to join the Championship side in the next 24 hours.

It has been claimed that the forward is flying into England where he is set to undergo a medical ahead of the move.

Blackburn have been keen to bring in a striker and the club are now on the verge of signing McGuire.

The Championship outfit will hope to put him through a medical and sort out all the paperwork in time for Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The news is a blow for Sheffield Wednesday, who must now move on to other targets.

McGuire has scored 15 times in 37 appearances for Orlando and he even made his debut for the United States earlier this month.
