Sheffield Wednesday target Duncan McGuire is on his way to Blackburn Rovers for a medical but the Championship club still have work to do to get a deal done for the Orlando City striker, according to journalist Alan Myers.

Blackburn felt that they had a deal in the bag for the striker earlier this week following negotiations with Orlando City.

However, the deal collapsed last night while McGuire was on the flight on his way to the United Kingdom.

The striker arrived in London earlier today with Sheffield Wednesday and a few other clubs joining the race to sign him

However, Blackburn resumed talks with McGuire’s camp and Orlando earlier today to revive the deal to sign him.

The negotiations are progressing positively and the forward is now on his way to a medical with Blackburn.

A deal is still not in place and Blackburn still have work to do before they can work out an agreement for the striker’s signing.

However, there is a confidence that Blackburn will succeed in getting a deal over the line before the window closes tonight.
