Sevilla have won the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz on loan for the rest of the season, according to the Evening Standard.

Veliz has scored once in eight Premier League appearances since joining Tottenham in the summer transfer window last year.

Tottenham have been mulling over whether to loan him out after they received offers from Fiorentina and Sevilla.

The north London club have made their decision and the forward will be spending the rest of the season away from Spurs.

It has been claimed that Sevilla are the ones who are now on the cusp of signing the 20-year-old striker on loan.

An agreement is in place between the two clubs and Veliz is currently travelling to Seville to complete the loan move.

Sevilla will put him through a medical once he reaches Spain and he will sign a loan contract until the end of the season.

They are sitting 16th in La Liga and are hopeful that Veliz will make an impact to help them steer clear of relegation.
