Celtic legend Chris Sutton has criticised the Bhoys for their failure to be more active in the winter transfer window and feels the title race is very much on after the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen.

Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers had been expected to bring in a left-back, but kept faith with his existing options, while his other business failed to convince many.

The window left some Celtic fans feeling underwhelmed and though new signing Nicolas Kuhn scored the Bhoys’ goal in a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen on Saturday, Sutton is unhappy.

He believes Celtic have been exposed for a lack of work in the window and thinks that due to their failure to prepare the Scottish Premiership title race is very much back on.

“Great advert that for the Scottish game. Tremendous second half performance from Aberdeen who really gave it a go against Celtic”, Sutton wrote on X.

“Celtic’s failure to bring in a left back summed up when [Alexandro] Bernabei was hooked in the second half.

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Title race is on…”

Celtic will next need to try to return to winning ways when they head to Easter Road to take on Nick Montgomery’s Hibernian side.
