Tottenham Hotspur out on loan star Alfie Devine has admitted he has been tasked with being more of a forward thinking player while at Plymouth Argyle.

Devine spent the first half of this season on loan in League One at Port Vale, but was recalled by Tottenham in January.

Spurs then sent Devine out on a fresh loan spell to the Championship with Plymouth Argyle.

The Spurs man is enjoying the stint, but admits he does need to change his game as while at Port Vale he was sitting deeper, now at Plymouth the emphasis is on him being forward thinking.

Devine feels his task is made easier by playing alongside Morgan Whittaker and Ryan Hardie.

“I was playing a bit deeper in League One and I think since I have come here I have been more of a forward-thinking player”, he told Plymouth Live.

“When you have them two next to you it makes your job a little bit easier.

“I have loved every bit of so far and hopefully we can continue it.”

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou will be keeping a close eye on how Devine performs in the cut and thrust of the Championship ahead of his return to north London.
