Mark Wilson believes Celtic have a better squad of players than the 2019/20 season when they lost the Scottish Premiership title to Rangers the last time.

Celtic fans are wary of watching Rangers march to a league title triumph after Philippe Clement’s team went top of the league table over the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers has come under pressure for the poor level of performances Celtic have produced over the last few weeks, which has resulted in two draws in their last three league games.

Many are comparing it to the 2019/20 season when Rangers last won the league and Celtic never managed to catch up once they went behind in the title race.

Wilson feels it could be different this season as definitely Celtic have better players than that campaign and this malaise is still reversible in the coming months of the season.

The former Celtic star said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “If you are a Celtic fan you’d like to think so.

“You’d like to think the club as a whole are in a better position than it was that season, they have got better players running down the spine than that season.

“So, you have got to hope that this is reversible.”

Celtic are still to play Rangers two more times this season, where the title could be decided.
