Charlton Athletic appear to be close to snapping up another free agent and two names have been mooted as possibilities.

Nathan Jones is trying to strengthen his squad despite the transfer window being closed and free agents are his only avenue.

Charlton have now pulled up the League One table and into 14th spot, giving them breathing space over the relegation battle.

Jones however is not looking to rest on his laurels and has indicated he is close to signing another free agent.

Two names have been floating around, according to journalist Louis Mendez.

They are Kazenga LuaLua and Tarique Fosu.

Jones worked with LuaLua when he was in charge at Luton Town, which could be seen as an indication he is the more likely arrival.

Winger Fosu was last on the books at Brentford, but departed the Bees last summer and is a free agent; he has been on trial at MLS side Charlotte FC.

LuaLua, also a winger, had a lengthy stint at Luton, while in England he has also turned out for Newcastle United, Doncaster Rovers, Brighton, QPR and Sunderland.
