Crystal Palace are set to face disappointment in their pursuit of Marseille attacker Iliman Ndiaye, who they hoped to sign in the summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Eagles want to beef up their attacking options in the summer transfer window and are long time fans of Ndiaye.

The attacker chose a move to France with Marseille from Sheffield United last summer, but initially struggled to make an impact.

English sides, including Crystal Palace, took note, and it appeared that Ndiaye could potentially be returning across the channel in the summer.

Crystal Palace have been hoping to sign him, but that now looks unlikely.

Ndiaye is now playing regularly at Marseille and is in no rush to leave the Stade Velodrome.

He has found the back of the net twice in Marseille’s last three Ligue 1 games, along with providing an assist.

Marseille are pushing to try to get into the top four in Ligue 1 and sit just four points off fourth, with a game in hand on fourth placed Nice.
